How we review

ZeBanana writes two kinds of reviews for every AI porn generator, NSFW chatbot, and AI girlfriend platform we cover: synthesized and first-party. We tell you which kind every review is, every time, at the top of the page.

Synthesized reviews

A synthesized review is built from extensive reading: we read every review we can find on the product, every Reddit thread, every app-store review, every YouTube video. We use the product's free tier where it exists. We talk to people who have used it.

We don't pretend to have paid for the Pro tier when we haven't. The sourcing-mode badge at the top of each review tells you exactly how we got our data.

First-party reviews

A first-party review is one where we've paid for the product and spent meaningful time with it ourselves. These are slower to produce, and we reserve them for products we think most readers will care about. Every first-party review carries a "First-Party Tested" badge.

The six dimensions

Every published review is scored on six dimensions, weighted by product category:

  • Output Quality — image fidelity for AI porn generators, video coherence for NSFW AI video tools, voice naturalness for AI sexting platforms, chat quality for AI girlfriends
  • Conversation & Memory — chat realism, persona consistency, long-term memory
  • Control & Customization — character creator depth, prompt control, scenario library
  • NSFW Freedom — what content the platform actually allows vs. silently refuses
  • Privacy & Trust — data logging, ToS clarity, jurisdictional protections
  • Value — price-to-output ratio, hidden costs, free-tier usability

The ratings are honest

We score products 1 to 5 bananas. We don't grade-inflate. A 3-banana product is genuinely good; 4 is rare; 5 is reserved. If everything we reviewed got 5 bananas, the ratings would mean nothing.

We re-verify reviews

Every review carries a "Last verified" date. Products change fast. Pricing changes, features get added or removed, ToS gets quietly updated. We aim to re-verify reviews every 90 days. Anything older than that gets flagged.

Disclosure

Most reviews on ZeBanana contain affiliate links. If you click through and sign up, we earn a commission. It doesn't change what we think of the product — bad products get bad reviews regardless of payout.
