Affiliate links
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click through and sign up for a product, we earn a commission from the platform — typically a percentage of the first month's payment, or a flat fee per signup. The specific amount varies by platform.
Every affiliate link on ZeBanana goes through the /go/[slug]/ redirect. This hides the ugly tracking URLs and lets us see which links are actually used, without embedding that data in the page source. Affiliate links are always disclosed in the review or comparison where they appear.
Commissions don't change ratings
Platforms pay commission regardless of what we write about them. A 2-banana review and a 5-banana review pay the same commission rate. There's no mechanism by which a higher rating produces more money — it might produce more clicks and signups, but that's driven by reader choice, not by how we phrase the verdict.
The rating reflects the research. If a product is bad, it gets a low rating. We don't write negative reviews designed to harm — that's not useful and it creates legal risk we don't want — but we will write accurate reviews that say a product has significant problems.
Products we genuinely wouldn't recommend at all don't get reviews here. They'd generate zero clicks and damage trust. The site's value comes from being honest; that's also what makes the affiliate model work.
Comped access
If we receive free or discounted access to a product for review purposes, we'll say so in the review. Currently, ZeBanana hasn't entered any formal comped-access arrangements. Most of what you'll read here in the early phase is synthesized from public sources, free tiers, and third-party reviews — with that sourcing stated explicitly.
Affiliate networks
ZeBanana works with individual platform affiliate programs directly. The affiliate networks and platforms we currently have relationships with will be listed here as they're established. (We're in the early months — this list will grow.)
Editorial independence
No platform has editorial control over what gets published here. We don't accept payment for reviews. We don't publish advertorial content labeled as editorial. If a company contacts us asking for a more favorable review, the answer is no — and we'll probably mention it in the methodology notes.
